Everyone at Sakina Design would like to thank the organizers and attendees at the 2010 RIS (Reviving the Islamic Spirit) Convention in Long Beach, California. We had a great time meeting everyone. It was an incredible experience meeting new friends, old friends, and even long-lost friends. Insha Allah RIS becomes a fixture of the Southern California community.
We were blessed to have a booth, surrounded by great organizations. Across from us, were our friends at CAIR, working hard to protect the civil rights of Muslims, and build strong bridges with the broader American community. Please keep up the great work! Also across from us were the brothers and sisters from Al-Maghrib. A special thanks to them for entertaining our daughter and her friend! And next to us was Sandala Productions, formerly known as Alhambra Productions. It was great meeting both Shaikh Hamza Yusuf and Imam Zaid Shakir!
We even met some of the RIS organizers from Canada. Thanks for the kind words, insha Allah we have the opportunity to join you all in Toronto one day.
If you didn’t have the opportunity to be a part of RIS this year, please make sure you plan to attend next year. If they return to California, we will see you there insha Allah!
Sakina Design at the 2009 ISNA Convention in Washington D.C.
ISNA’s yearly convention is a well known national event bringing together speakers and attendees from around the country and around the world. Equally impressive is their bazaar, a must for any new business wanting to introduce itself to the Muslim American community. With the grand opening of Sakina Design in August, we knew we had to attend this year’s convention.
Going into it, we didn’t know what to expect. Alhamdulillah, we were pleasantly surprised by the response! Thanks to everyone for making our first ISNA Convention a great experience. We met so many wonderful people from around the world and were able to inform them about our line of contemporary, eco-friendly Islamic artwork and greeting cards.
We plan to keep everyone informed about our latest products, events and sales through our website and mailing list, facebook page and twitter account. Please join us and keep informed. These are also great ways to make your voice heard. Let us know what products you would like to see next. Are you looking for contemporary Islamic home décor and gifts but just can’t find anything? Let us know and we may produce it for you (and the rest of our customers).
